I just got back from a photoshoot (and thankfully I have two days off before I have to work crazy hours again) so I’ll be catching up on matches, but I’ll also being doing some site updates! Here’s what I’ll be working on over the next two days:
- Adding Tags (Back when I first started I didn’t have a tagging system. I want to make sure everyone can find what they want, even old matches)
- Stores List Updates (New stores will be added)
- Q&A Post (I’ll be working on a huge post with all your questions, so if you have any please send them in tonight so I can add them before I queue the post)
And for a quick side note:
And I say this not in a mean way, not in an accusing way, but in a way to try and explain how I’ve been feeling.
I’ve noticed lately that when I find something that’s trickier to find, people will ask me how I know it’s the exact thing and after I explain it I’ll see messages from those same people to other fashion sites saying ‘hey so this is the exact and why I know it’s exact’. This is really frustrating and like a slap in the face to a blog owner and let me explain why. I work 12-15 hour days, most consist of getting 6 hours of sleep every night or less. I also have to clean, work out, go to auditions, go to open calls and find time to buy groceries and work my second job so I can pay rent every month. In doing all of this I’m still running this blog and posting matches, most that day or the next and a lot of times I’m spending time I should spent sleeping or doing other things looking for hard to find matches.
I always make sure what I post is 100% exact if it’s labeled exact and I never label something exact if I’m unsure because I don’t want anyone buying the wrong thing when they want the exact.
When you take something I’ve spent a bunch of time and hard work on finding and just give it to someone else without crediting where you got it you’re basically telling the person you got it from that you don’t care how much work they put in. If I just waited around for people to tell me where everything was from it would be a lot easier, but it wouldn’t be honest or fair to others. I’m fine with questions if you see something else you might think is exact and want to know why, but going and telling people that information and then telling them where to get the match without telling them who matched it is just tossing all my hard work out the window. I’ve seen this happen with other blogs too, not just mine, and find it to be very disrespectful. It takes two seconds to credit someone for their hard work and Karma will thank you for it (as will the blog owner).
I don’t say this to be mean or complain, but I’m very very busy in my life and I’m still putting all this extra work in for my followers and it makes it seem like no one really cares if I’m doing this or not.
I hope this didn’t come off mean in any way because I really don’t want it too <3
