I don’t know which one they use, no. It’s alright, my parents are photographers. I don’t have a go pro, because I use a T2i for all my film projects. They’re great for sports and action, but if you just want to do videos a regular old video camera will be better to use and cheaper. If you want to shoot movies type video, a DSLR would be best. 

I would check out http://www.dpreview.com/  and look up the types of cameras you’re interested in.
